A service deposit of $100 shall be paid to the District by each applicant for wastewater service as a condition of service, including existing customers that establish service at a new address. Security deposits shall be held by the District to ensure prompt payment of all charges for wastewater service.
At its option, the District may apply all or any part of a customer’s security deposit against any delinquent bill of the customer. Upon discontinuation of service, the deposit shall be applied against amounts due whether because of the customer’s delinquency or upon the customer’s request. Any portion of the deposit remaining after deduction of such amounts shall be refunded to the customer. In no event shall the security deposit bear interest for the benefit of the customer.
A Service Deposit is required of any customer as a condition of restoration of service, regardless of payment history, if wastewater service has been discontinued for nonpayment.
